I've lost my certificate, how can I order worms?

You can order worms on our website using paypal or send in your name, address and email, along with a check for $9.95 to HSP Nature Toys, 637 Grassy Brook Road, Brookline, VT 05345.

What kind of worms do you send?

We send red wiggler worms due to their remarkable ability to process organic matter into fertile compost.

How long does it take for the seeds to sprout?

The radish seeds will be the first to sprout, generally within 3 days.

When should I water the plants?

That's the neat feature of the Root-Vue Farm, keep the basin filled about 1/2 inch with water and the wicking system will pull up the amount the roots need.

When is the best time of year to plant?

You can grow plants year round to study roots, but you will only be able to grow vegetables in the summer, just like in nature.

I've lost the wicking material!

You can substitute 1/2 inch cotton rope for the wicking material, which is available at hardware stores.

Why does the acrylic window look blue, in the picture it is clear?

There is a blue plastic covering that is shipped on the clear acrylic to prevent scratching. This should be removed prior to setting up the unit - see the instruction booklet (available on the resources page).

Do I need to use the special soil wafers next year?

Please use the rootvue again and again... you can use any seeds and regular potting soil. Happy Planting!
